About Us
We are a dynamic congregation leading people to an active faith in Jesus Christ.
Our mission is sharing God's light through worship, study, and service.
We are a connectional church in ministry with 250+ United Methodist churches serving God in the state of Washington and the panhandle of Idaho. Together we can do far greater things than any one individual congregation could do alone, but our mission and ministry begins at home and reaches worldwide.

Our history

Light of the Hill UMC is in its 25th year of ministry with the people on and around South Hill. We attract members and friends from South Hill, Puyallup, Orting, Sumner, Graham, and Tacoma.

Our Pastor
Rev. Robert Henre is our pastor. He brings an enthusiasm to lead our 200+ members into active ministry as we boldly become the "Body of Christ" and follow God's vision for us individually and collectively.

"I believe this congregation has a unique witness to make on South Hill. We can be the bridge over which many people walk who might never be connected otherwise. Persons of diverse attitudes may be held together by a basic common commitment here to trust in the love that is at the heart of all creation revealed through Jesus Christ. We can present faith in a way that allows honest inquiry by persons who are cautious. At whatever point persons may be on their journey of spirit, we can meet them and nurture next steps together."

"I am grateful to be a part of a church that is not finished, that realizes there are ever-beckoning new beginnings, emerging needs, and multiple ways to grow in life and spirit.
